24 illegal downloads cost $220,000

Jammie Thomas lost her battle in court against the forces of the RIAA. The bill? A whopping $220,000. Jesus christ. Can you imagine paying $9k for any of the “songs” that are out there today? I’d rather actually have Britney babysit my children than pay .99 cents for one of her songs…maybe this court order can keep her in Vodka and McNuggets.

Ok, I wouldn’t let her babysit a stuffed animal, much less my own spawn. Just being funny.

Personally, I’d check out Amazon’s mp3 service. Get the one or two nuggets you want, no DRM, cheap as hell…and then don’t sweat all this lawsuit shit.

Anyway, sadly, you are taking your chances if you are still filesharing music.
